Undo a change
Undo and redo a saved or deleted transaction from the title bar or the Edit menu.
Undo takes back the last thing you did to your books, such as a transaction you saved or deleted, an account you renamed or a statement you completed. Redo does it again. Both work in the business you have open.
Undo and redo
The Undo and Redo buttons are in the title bar, at the right of the business's name. Each is dimmed when there is nothing to undo or redo.

Point at a button to see what it would do, such as Undo Delete Transaction. The Edit menu shows the same name.
| To | Edit menu | Mac | Windows |
|---|---|---|---|
| Take back the last change | Undo | Command and Z | Ctrl and Z |
| Do it again | Redo | Shift, Command and Z | Ctrl and Y |
On a Mac the menus are at the top of the screen. On Windows, press the Application Menu button at the left of the title bar.
What Undo does
- A deleted transaction comes back in every account it was in.
- A saved change puts the transaction back as it was before the save. Undoing a new transaction removes it. Redo saves it again.
Each press goes one step further back, newest change first.
When Undo has nothing to take back
The menu says Can't Undo when there is nothing to undo. It says Can't Undo followed by a name when your last action is one that Undo cannot take back. Undo does not reach past it to an older change.
The list of steps starts again when you open another business, restore a backup, or turn sync on or off. Closing TrueSum also ends it.
Typing in a field
Command and Z, or Ctrl and Z, in a field you just typed in takes back your typing first. Save, then press it again to undo the save. The title bar button and the Edit menu item always undo the last change to your books.
